REFUGE: A JOURNAL FOR THE VOICE OF THE VOICELESS

Did you know that April is Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month?

According to the National Children’s Alliance, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys in the U.S. are estimated to experience CSA.

1 billion children globally are estimated to experience sexual violence.

More than 550,000 children are known to the U.S. authorities to be abused – that’s 8 children out of every thousand.

When victims are rescued, the Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County provide a safe place for them and their families/guardians to get the help and healing they need. With chapters in every state, CAC has served more than 370,000 kids each year.* https://www.facebook.com/ChildrensAdvocacyCenterofSmithCounty )

I was one of those kids. And, this April, my family and I wanted to do something as a, “Thank you.”

Therefore, we are super honored to announce:

Refuge: A Journal For The Voice Of The Voiceless

Those who choose to spend their days defending the innocent are heroes in a way words could never describe. ~ Elizabeth Mae Wolfram

For the advocates, counselors, lawyers, judges, teachers, guardians, parents - this journal is dedicated to all voices of the voiceless. A survivor's way to say, "Thank you."

Day by day, counselors and advocates return voices that have been taken, provide a safe space others need, offer families the guidance necessary to navigate their darkest days.

TRUE ADVOCATES CHANGE GENERATIONS

And we wanted to give back. Filled with scripture and personal notes, Refuge is a journal designed to encourage anyone in an advocating role, offering a place to write down their wins, gratitude, thoughts, and more.

Being a voice to those who can't find the words is being a pillar of strength to help find their courage. ~ Kari Elizabeth W.

When you purchase "Refuge," ALL proceeds are donated to The Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County in Tyler, Texas.
